CHRISTOPHER CULPO
Portrait in Black and White
PORTRAIT IN BLACK AND WHITE
Saxophonist Jean Charles Richard and pianist/composer Christopher Culpo crossed paths at a jam session, and that crossing soon became an intertwining, a sharing, combining, and unifying of artistic goals. Both have varied musical backgrounds and seek to build upon a synthesis of the traditions they continue to study and practice. They have struck out on a common musical path, to assume as artists the responsibility to protect, cultivate, and demonstrate the capacity to listen, understand, and learn.
This responsibility is borne through the music.
